A major challenge I face a small CPA firm is how to provide the resources and expertise for my clients in areas beyond those in which I am skilled.  If a client has a question about Washington taxes, I can easily respond, but if the question is about Kansas taxes, I will have to find the resources.  Similarly, I am knowledgeable about US and Canadian tax issues, but am not in Swiss tax issues.

To respond to the challenge, I have joined CPA Connect.  CPA Connect is a nation-wide network of local CPA Firms that in turn is affiliated with CPAmerica, an association of large local and regional CPA firms, and Horwath International, an international firm of accountants and consultants.  This affiliation provides me with the resources of a much larger CPA firms, and provides my clients with a more comprehensive suite of services.
