A major challenge I face as small CPA firm is how to provide the resources and expertise for my clients in areas beyond those in which I am skilled.  If a client has a question about Washington taxes, I can easily respond, but if the question is about Kansas taxes, I will have to find the resources.  Similarly, I am knowledgeable about US and Canadian tax issues, but am not in Swiss tax issues.

To respond to the challenge, I have joined CPA Connect.  CPA Connect is a nation-wide network of local CPA Firms that in turn is affiliated with CPAmerica, an association of large local and regional CPA firms, and Crowe-Horwath International, an international firm of accountants and consultants.  This affiliation provides me with the resources of a much larger CPA firms, and provides my clients with a more comprehensive suite of services.
